No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to pickup everything he possibly could about the game. He would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from other people destroy his dream of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is very humble about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
