Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

December 8th, 2025 at 2:25

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the closing poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While playing internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I think television can skew our view of the real world at times. The best players in the world might be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in big stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in money games?
