Online poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other gamblers receive five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the bank. After the wager is the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including a sum in accordance with the original wager. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The bank pony’s up cash even with your ante and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
