Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 where he loved gambling on numerous card games when he was young. He also helped his sister Annie Duke master poker. Annie Duke was a superb student of poker as she would always be asking questions about how to make the correct decision. Howard told Annie to move out to Las Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the best women players the poker world ever. Howard headed to Vegas in 1993 and competed in cash games for the subsequent decade. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
