Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

April 19th, 2018 at 10:25

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve final table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While betting on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full dollar value. I think television can skew our perception of the real world at times. The greatest players in the world might be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen competing in online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in cash rounds?
