Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

January 11th, 2017 at 5:25

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve closing poker table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He won a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best gamblers anywhere in the world. While competing in internet poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The best players in the world could be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in money games?
